Yoga for Fat People!
pasdesolee:
In my time practicing yoga, I often find myself frustrated with my body and myself because regardless of how flexible I may be, my fat simply gets in the way of some of my favorite poses. And while searching for yoga videos on youtube, I became frustrated by watching these thin, svelte ladies do these same poses that I struggle with, but with little to no difficulty! Does that mean...
Since clearly you all don't understand...
fitnessgyro:
Arm workouts target arm muscle
Leg workouts target leg muscles
Butt workouts target butt muscles
Core workouts target core muscles
Back workouts target back muscles
Chest workouts target chest muscles
ECT…
YOU CAN NOT TARGET FAT BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT SPOT REDUCE FAT FROM A CERTAIN AREA ON YOUR BODY. CARDIO AND EATING HEALTHY LOWERS YOUR OVERALL BODY FAT.

This week, I’ve been focusing less on calories and more on eating healthy. I’ve stopped drinking sodas and I’ve been making my own fresh fruit and vegetable juice.
And I’ve lost a pound and a half! I’m back down to my lowest weight since I’ve started my weight loss journey, and I feel really great. I don’t feel hungry or deprived, I feel healthy and...

I just bought a juicer! The only thing I’ve made so far is apple juice, and it was very tasty! I’m going to go out this weekend and buy tons of fruits and veggies to juice- do any of you juice? What are your favorite combinations?

The Clean Fifteen & The Dirty Dozen
katiohead:
If you’re like me, you want to buy organic when it’s reasonable to do so and you can afford it - so keep in mind the Clean 15 and the Dirty 12 when you are grocery shopping. Prioritize organic if you’re buying something from The Dirty Dozen list.

Have any of you done a juice fast? I’m thinking of trying it- I love the idea of cleansing my body like that. I definitely want to eat fewer processed foods and more natural, organic foods.
If you find one you like, will you let me know? I’m in desperate need of a good cleanse. You’ve inspired me even more to get healthy, so thanks for that!
I will definitely...

Trying some whey protein for the first time.
It is a terrible experience.
emilyiswiser asked: Runkeeper is a good app. I use it when I run or walk bcuz it tracks calories burned, distance, time, pace etc and it is really handy!

I have realized that I want to lose weight. Not because I am unhappy with my looks, but to be healthier. I don’t eat right and I want to take better care of my body. What’s funny is it seems so much easier and nicer being body positive. I’m not striving to lose weight because I hate myself or my body but because I love myself and want to keep it as long as I can. Its so much nicer...

Foodie/yoga/body positive health blogs!
thinquinn:
I’ve unfollowed several blogs that post more traditional fitspo (pretty much fit girls in their underwear), and I’m looking for more blogs like mine to follow. If you post primarily healthy food, yoga pictures, or body positive motivation, please reblog this! You do not have to be following me, and I will be checking out everyone xx
A truly healthy diet
doesn’t exclude foods
is made up of foods, not numbers
is varied and flexible
is not restrictive
allows you to trust your body
is not obsessive
doesn’t use food as a reward or punishment
doesn’t have to be “perfect”
allows you to live your life, but it is not your life
does not exclude any food group
consists of foods that make you feel energized and healthy
Quote that I hate
paleofitness:
“Eat for the body you want, not for the body you have”
Umm no how about eat for the body you have - the only one you will ever get - supply it with nutrients to give you energy and make your brain sharper. Remove the poison from it and show it some love. Your body is a part of YOU and who you are, and it deserves only the best.

I may not be losing weight but I sure am kicking ass at the gym. I’m okay with this. I feel good about my body and what it can do.
But of course I always kick ass ;)
Do ALL the exercise!
Today I’ve done 20 minutes of yoga, 30 minutes of cardio, and 20 minutes of circuit training.
Next up: Drink ALL the water!

I’m starting to count calories again today. Not excited, but hopefully I’ll get back on track with weight loss.
